This small collection consists of memorabilia which primarily documents the highlights of the career of J.J. Rendleman, with the emphasis upon his student days. Dr. John Jacob Rendleman was born July 15, 1863, in Makanda, Ill. and attended Southern Illinois University until 1880. He then taught school near his old home before beginning his formal education in the study of medicine. He attended the School of Medicine at the University of Tennessee and went on to get another degree from Jefferson Medical College at Philadelphia.
